Kristen Meinzer is a Brooklyn-based writer who was born in South Korea and raised in Minnesota. She received a BA in cultural studies and comparative literature from the University of Minnesota in 1999 and an interdisciplinary MA in public history and consumer culture from New York University in 2005. In 2006, she was accepted into Pulitzer Prize-winner Michael Cunningham's fiction-writing program at Brooklyn College. While there, she earned the Himan Brown Award in Creative Writing, a Graduate Studies Research Grant, and an MFA. In 2008, she was granted a fellowship with the Willard R. Espy Literary Foundation.
